Privacy Policy

We collect only what we need to run the app for you:

• Account information — your name and email address when you create an account. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email associated with that sign-in.
• Health & fitness data — the information you log or that the app calculates, such as body measurements (weight, height), date of birth, biological sex, goals, meals and nutrition, workouts and exercises, steps, hydration, sleep and supplements.
• Apple Health / Health Connect — only if you explicitly enable it, we read or write activity and workout data through Apple Health (HealthKit) or Android Health Connect. This data stays associated with your account and is used solely to power features you asked for. It is never used for advertising and never shared with third parties for their own purposes.
• Technical data — basic information needed to operate and secure the service, such as a user identifier and app/version information.

• To provide the app and its core features.
• To personalise your experience — for example, calculating your calorie and macro targets and tailoring recommendations.
• To maintain, secure and improve the app and troubleshoot issues.
• To communicate with you about your account and important service updates.

We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (our database and authentication provider) and is protected in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to what is required to operate the service. While no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Balance+:

• Supabase — account authentication and secure data storage.
• Apple & Google — optional sign-in, and (if enabled) Apple Health / Health Connect integration.
• Food & exercise databases — reference data such as Open Food Facts, USDA FoodData Central and open exercise databases. We send search terms to look up foods and exercises; we do not send your personal health data to these services.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

• Access & correction — you can view and edit your information within the app.
• Deletion— you can delete your account and its associated data at any time from within the app (Profile → account settings). Deleting your account permanently removes your personal data from our systems.
• Health permissions — you control Apple Health / Health Connect access from your device settings and can revoke it at any time.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data, except where we are required to retain limited records to comply with legal obligations.

Balance+ is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
